'Als zij het niet begrijpen dan begrijpen wij het wel.'

'Als zij het niet begrijpen dan begrijpen wij het wel.' is one of my favourite projects I've done. The project consists of photos I took on a disposable camera during a New Year's Eve party. The thing I wanted to work on with this project was spontaneity in my images and I think these turned out perfectly. The main reason I love this project so much is because it features some of the people I love the most in my life and the images perfectly resemble them all as a person individually. I realised that probably not a lot of people would know that these images resemble my friends so well so I wasn't sure if I should include them in my exposition in february 2022. My friend then said: "Als zij het niet begrijpen dan begrijpen wij het wel." ("If they don't understand it then we will.") So I decided to exhibit them anyways and that is also how the project name was born, I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.
